The festive season came alive at WeBridge Community Services on 8th December 2024, as we hosted a special Seniors Christmas Party to celebrate and honor the vibrant seniors in our community. The event, held from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM, brought together over 60 attendees, creating an atmosphere of warmth, gratitude, and connection to mark the end of a remarkable year.

The event began with opening remarks from one of WeBridge's founders, Massah Tarawalley, who welcomed everyone and shared insights into the organization's programs and the purpose of the gathering. Her heartfelt words set the tone for a day filled with inspiration, joy, and togetherness.

Two distinguished guest speakers graced the occasion:

  • Brenda Oyerinde, who spoke eloquently about the power of gratitude and the importance of cultivating a thankful heart.

  • Muthoni Muugi, who highlighted the unique needs of seniors and applauded WeBridge Community Services for its unwavering commitment to their well-being.

The program was further enriched by the participation of the Western Black Medical Student Association, whose volunteers showcased their creative talents through engaging activities. Their thoughtful entertainment brought smiles and excitement, making the day unforgettable for our seniors.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of seniors who had actively participated in the Seniors Day Program throughout 2024. Certificates and thoughtful gift bags were handed out, celebrating their dedication and involvement. The celebrations concluded with a lively dance break, where attendees showcased their best moves, spreading cheer and camaraderie.

The program facilitators also used the opportunity to speak about the Seniors Day Program, which runs every first to third Wednesday of each month, describing it as a welcoming and nurturing environment. They encouraged attendees to become ambassadors of this enriching initiative, extending its impact to even more seniors in the community.

As the evening came to a close, Massah Tarawalley delivered heartfelt closing remarks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the event a success.

The 2024 Seniors Christmas Party was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, the joy of giving, and the importance of cherishing our seniors. It was a perfect way to wrap up the year and look forward to an even brighter 2025.
